"Think, Tom," Shirley pressed. "Did John say anything else significant?"
"Disappeared, but I guess you know that one already. How about insurrection?"
"Hey guys," Donna shouted. "John's on TV."
It was true. The Channel 6 news crew had been in Copley Square to get first-hand reactions to today's weather. At the sound of the gunshot they swung the camera around and caught his erratic movements.
Between replays, they were interviewing officials on the scene.
"Any clues yet, Commissioner?"
"No, but the crime lab is already working on your footage. You see, a murder victim--even an attempted murder victim--always tries to act out some kind of message. Mark my words, we'll decode this, find the victim, and get to the bottom of it. That's all for now; excuse me."
"Shirley, how about Eastern Standard Time?"
