Susan Kelley, the book group's plant life expert, worked at the Arnold Arboretum. Susan had recently returned from a field trip to Tibet with remarkable specimens of green and black teas. 

Brilliant and attractive, a regular guest on The Botany Channel, Susan was searching the globe for new varieties of lilac. If the Arboretum could get Lilac Sunday to coincide with Mother's Day each year, ticket sales would soar.
