Webutuck Central Reunion - Letter of Thanks from Sally Smith
Letter of Thanks
I would like to thank Terry Cowgill and Andrea Salvadore of The Millerton News for their support of the Webutuck Millennium Reunion. I greatly appreciate the frequent updates on the reunion that they provided in the News from the very beginning of this massive undertaking. The reunion would not have been as successful if the paper had not printed stories about the reunion events and the list of attendees.
Further, I want to thank Tom Schuman for the wonderful post-reunion article and pictures of the reunion. The people of Millerton should be proud of a newspaper that works so hard to bring the community together.
The Webutuck Millennium Reunion was an enormous but rewarding project. I would like to thank fellow Reunion Committee members Ken Chase, Donna Miller Kaplan, Mary Darnell Cooper, Janet Meade Reagon, Ann Southworth Lango, Laurie Berger Gross, Sandra Bradley Thurston and Catherine Snow Fenn for working so diligently and hard to make this gathering such a success. And a huge thanks to Steve Blanchard for designing and maintaining the reunion Web site. It has kept us informed as well as being fun.
I would also like to thank the Reunion Committee and others who are responsible for all the lovely gifts I received, including the special gift from the Class of '61. They will be treasured always.
A special thanks to Lauren Simons of the Hamilton Inn for opening her restaurant (almost at a moments notice) for the reunion kick-off cocktail party, and to Maria and George of Christina's Garden Restaurant for the after-reunion breakfast, which was the "frosting on the cake" of the reunion. Not only did they provide great services, they provided them without knowing in advance the number of people attending.
The Millerton News, Lauren, Maria and George have graciously and generously shown us the spirit of community. And to them, I am truly grateful.
Last, but not least, to all of those who attended and shared in the fun of the weekend, thank you.
Sincerely,
Sally Smith
