We happened upon some of the sets used in Spielberg's film Munich. It was very interesting to see an Arabian part of Budapest turned into a
London street with just a few paper signs, London taxis, and London
double-decker busses.
This is an illegal shot. No photography is allowed while filming is going on. I
was far enough back for them to ignore me, I guess. I got nabbed when I was
closer. The driver of the red crane truck just sat in its cab the whole time we
were watching. And the guy at the top of the crane was napping. He only had to
do something if the lights had to be re-aimed. The other crane, almost invisible
in this shot, held aloft the mother of all lawn sprinklers to produce a London
rain storm in Budapest.
The next day we saw the tank truck and pumps that supported
the rain-making.
