Gota Canal
Home July10 July11

We traveled the length of the Gota Canal in Sweden on the Wilhelm Tham.

Here are a few photos from that journey.

We started in Goteborg on July 8. We stayed overnight and boarded the Wilhelm Tham on the morning of July 9. Most of July 9 was spent traveling through the Trollhatten locks and on to Lake Vanern.

The Gota Canal proper starts on the east edge of Lake Vanern. We steamed into it early in the morning of July 10. The canal was spectacular in the early morning. We ended the day and stayed the night at Motala on the eastern shore of Lake Vattern.

On July 11, the canal was again quite spectacular in the early morning.

This is a work in progress. I will be adding to it as time permits.
